The crew then speculates about the new Summer Game Fest reveals for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, a new Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name details, and the announcement of an action RPG based on Akira Toriyama's Sand Land manga. In the first of at least two big news weeks, the discussion opens with a discussion about the leaked Persona 3 Reload and Persona 5 Tactica, with a lot of discussion about what should be included gameplay-wise for a reworking of Persona 3. Bryan then concludes his thoughts after finishing the recent remake of System Shock. Finally, the crew has a small follow-up discussion of the recently shown Dragon's Dogma 2, though we expect we'll see more next week during Capcom's 2023 showcase. The Mother/ EarthBound series has a complicated history with audiences outside of Japan. So I’m sticking with those NES and SNES titles, and there is one game that was added to the service not too long ago that I’m eyeing as my next conquest: EarthBound Beginnings. Thankfully, I have zero interest in revisiting anything from the Nintendo 64, and I already own every Genesis title worth owning with one of the 1,000 Genesis compilations Sega has released over the past two decades. Since then, the library of available titles and consoles has expanded, with the Sega Genesis and Nintendo 64 finding their way to the subscription service, albeit at a more expensive tier than what you pay to play NES and SNES titles. A few years ago, I got my first good look at how I could enjoy playing these decades-old games when I went through and completed Zelda II: The Adventure of Link for the very first time. It may not be the Virtual Console setup I loved on my Wii and 3DS, but I have to say I’ve really been digging the Nintendo Switch Online retro game package as of late. Let me quickly recap the whole thing and point out what has changed.Ī little bit more than two weeks ago, Twitch had started to restrict access to their old private API namespace and a 410 Client Error: Gone for url error was returned when requesting those endpoints, like for example when requesting a streaming access token, which Streamlink has to do before it can launch Twitch streams. Streamlink 1.3.0 has been released today with the fixed plugin (fixed in PR #2692).Īpologies for taking a bit longer, but as you all know, Twitch went back and forth with the API changes several times throughout the past two weeks and it wasn't 100% clear whether it was an intentional change or not, especially because of the lack of proper replies on Twitch's dev forums. The issue is also not part of the kraken API anyway which the version number is used for, so it's completely irrelevant. version=5 gets explicitly set when the class instance gets initialized. The version=3 parameter is the old default parameter value, but it's not being used. I fear there won't be any other solution, but hopefully I'm is not true. If you need help or want to discuss the Twitch API situation, feel free to use the Streamlink Gitter channel:Īnd in case that these issues will continue, we will probably have to go the dirty way and use Twitch's own client-id for all private API requests in the future. See this comment here if you're looking for a temporary workaround solution: We've already said and commented on everything regarding this issue and I don't think there won't be any more comments with more useful information. Before this ends up in another flood of posts, I'm going to lock this thread. I don’t mind paying for tables–I expect it, in fact–but here you have to collect (or buy) Zen coins. What followed was a ridiculous mess of F2P nonsense that I still cannot wrap my head around.Įverything, and I mean everything, is behind the paywall. Upon downloading the free app, I was inundated with options and picked the only table out of the initial Williams selection that I was interested in: Medieval Madness. Last week, Zen Studios released Williams Pinball for iOS and I don’t think it’s possible for them to have shit the bed any worse. What more could I want?Ī lot, apparently. Thus, I was super stoked when I heard that Zen has acquired the Williams license and would be bringing real-life tables into the Zen world. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to either re-purchase my ST:TNG table only to have it disappear the next time I open the app. The problem is that Pinball Arcade’s apps are hunks of garbage compared to the polished gems that Zen puts out. Give me Star Trek: TNG and a handful of quarters and I can die happy. I’m also one of the freaks that prefers the real tables of Pinball Arcade to the fanciful, and often physics-defying, tables of Zen Pinball. I love pinball, be it standing in an arcade or digitally on my iPad.
